Hundreds of free qualifications on offer to boost skills and jobs

Boosting the nation’s skills with the expertise employers need is a key part of the Government’s Plan for Jobs. The Lifetime Skills Guarantee is part of the Government’s work to transform the adult education system so that businesses can find or develop talented people of all ages to fill skills gaps and help adults get the skills they need throughout their life, from free Level 3 qualifications and Skills Bootcamps, to basic skills offers and more.

Clean Air Zone

Free 1:1 digital support for arts & culture

Tuesday 13th April

A new scheme designed to improve the digital skills of arts and culture organisations within the Greater Birmingham and Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership’s (GBSLEP) region has been launched.

After running a successful pilot last year, GBSLEP has funded digital arts specialists Limina to deliver the training.

GBSLEP Growth Hub Announces Invitation to Tender for Peer Networks

Tuesday 6th April

The Greater Birmingham and Solihull LEP Growth Hub has today issued its Invitation to Tender for the Peer Networks 2021 programme.

Following the successful delivery of sixteen cohorts in the pilot programme, BEIS has granted the GBSLEP Growth Hub ei18 cohorts for the 2021-2022 financial year.

Businesses in the Health and Medical Technology sector are being invited to join the newly formed Science Industry Partnership for the West Midlands (SIP West Midlands). 

The employer-led group will bring companies from across the science industries together to share best practice and find solutions to skills needs, apprenticeships and retaining graduates. There will be a particular focus on the Health and Medical Technology Sector.
