New grants from Innovate UK for projects that benefit society and/or an industry severely impacted by COVID-19

Innovate UK, as part of UK Research and Innovation, will invest up to £20 million in innovation projects. Fast Start is the newly launched competition to support UK businesses to focus on emerging or increasing needs of society and industries during and following the COVID-19 pandemic.

Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme (CBILS) update

The Chancellor is extending the CBILS so that more small businesses will be eligible should they need finance to keep operating during this difficult time.

The government is stopping lenders from requesting personal guarantees for loans under £250,000 and making operational changes to speed up lending approvals.
