Introduction

Birmingham City Council’s Business Development & Innovation (BDI) Team is part of the Birmingham Business Hub which brings together key strategic organisations from across the City to form a "one stop shop” for businesses.

Tasked with improving the economic prosperity of the City, the team is based in Baskerville House, and located in the heart of the City Centre.  The Hub houses the following partnership organisations:

Greater Birmingham & Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership (GBSLEP)
Marketing Birmingham
Finance Birmingham
The Business Development & Innovation Team

With a £93m portfolio of business support programmes funded by the European Regional Development Fund and the Regional Growth Fund, the  team has a track record of delivering successful business support programmes, creating and safeguarding more than 6,300 jobs since 2012.

We are currently in the process of applying for further European funding to run a new programme called the Business Growth Programme. This will offer 4 different grant projects; High Speed 2, Green Bridge, Business Development  and Business Innovation. An email address has been set up allowing businesses to note their interest; that address is bgp@birmingham.gov.uk.
