The government has launched the Help to Grow: Management programme. As part of the 'Plan for Jobs', courses will help senior leaders of small and medium businesses to lead their businesses to their full potential.
Help to Grow: Management is a 12 week programme delivered by leading business schools across the UK - including Aston and Birmingham City University. The programme combines a practical curriculum, with 1:1 support from a business mentor, peer-learning sessions and access to an alumni network.
"I cannot recommend enough clearing a day a week from your diary to reap the rewards of this programme"
"As we grow, each year our businesses morph into entirely new and different personalities each bringing their own challenges. Help to Grow I can only compare to an overhaul. It has created that time and space for me to revisit all the things I did on Goldman Sachs 10KSB as a one woman band in 2014. We now have an entirely different business and larger team; our vision has changed, we are overhauling our branding strategy, our mission needs to be tweaked, as do our aims. Out of all the courses I’ve done at Aston, this is one to take and work on with the whole team. It most definitely has been the most work but time well spent as by the end we will have such a powerful grip on our business model and strategy to help move up to the next level." Emma Heathcote-James - Little Soap Company, Cohort 1, 2021 programme participant
Designed to be manageable alongside full-time work, this programme supports small business leaders to develop their strategic skills with key modules covering financial management, innovation and digital adoption. By the end of the programme participants will develop a tailored business growth plan to lead their business to its full potential.
30,000 places will be available over 3 years. The programme is 90% subsidised by government – participants will be charged £750.
